I am a slacker....

I am a slacker on postings here....  I guess because its on my laptop and not immediately available in my little grubby hands to do reviews.  With that said, I can always admit that I suck at some things.  I tried looking for Blogger in the Ap store but couldnt find it.  Maybe it isnt there.  Who knows.  I have watched lots and lots of movies, as I normally do, and have lots and lots of opinions, as I normally do about everything, but I have to slowly "catch up"..............

Red Christmas

I almost do not want to write about this movie because I do not want to give any spoilers. On that note, Dee Wallace is in this little diddy. Her presence is what had me wanting to see it immediately. It is not exactly a Christmas movie so you can watch it at anytime. The flick is a slasher/gore type horror and guessing who gets the “ax” next is about the only excitement you get.

45 years

In watching 45 Years, I was taken back to an incident I went through where trust was broken because of a untold truth.

The woman in this movie is going through unbearable pain with the realization that she may be second best.  You have to really watch the movie to catch what makes the woman so upset.  It truly is a sad movie with an excellent performance on the depth of her sadness.

The perspective is more of the woman's while the man adds his thoughts out loud on the situation.  But his action speak differently.

Great movie, great performance, must see Oscar nod.

Facebook.....No, No, No!!! (In the words of Amy Winehouse)

I am not on Facebook anymore, professionally or personally.  Too much drama for me and sensory overload.

....and by the way the movie Amy is up for an OSCAR under Documentary Feature!!!

Tootles!

Holy Crap.... Where have I been??????

I forgot I had this blog until I was trying to fight a red light ticket from Berwyn, Illinois.

How exciting it was to find this.  I am so happy...

I live in Chicago now and well, its a bummer.  It is so hard to make new friends when you are in your 40's.

Anywho, I am still watching movies.  I am going to continue to write on this blog because hey, IT'S OSCAR SEASON!

Ciao Bellas!

My Week With Marilyn

Not happy with this.  I like Michelle Williams.  I think she is a doll truly.  But I didnt like her as Marilyn Monroe.  And I am not a Monroe fan but all I saw was Michelle Williams NOT Monroe.  It was silly.  I didnt see the point in the movie.  Hasnt she had enough grief over her life to make this movie.  The more I think about it, it was tasteless to make this flick.

Posting

I cant always post every day...........That would be like watching a movie everyday.  I guess I could write about a movie I have already seen, but then I would have to think back and then pick one I have seen and write about it.........Soooo, yeah, not doing that now because I am tired.  Oscars tomorrow...........

Hugo

I must of missed something when I watched 'Hugo". I was cute. I liked the very ending when they did the old times movies screening. I just dont think it should be Best Picture. I got a little lost during some of it and really wanted to find out what happened to his father. Did I miss it?

Moneyball

"Moneyball' was not enjoyable for me. Jonah was not funny. Brad was boring and looked old. I dont think he is going to age very well probably because he doesnt take care of himself. I did like the economics fundamentals of the movie and enjoyed that their is some kind of intelligence added to sports but overall I thought the film was dry.

War Horse

I enjoyed 'War Horse". I liked that the horse traveled to many different places and encountered various people who all tied together. I also enjoyed the human aspect between the other horse. Very endearing to me.

The Artist

"The Artist' is a silent movie. The acting was so good though that they didnt need to talk. Every once in awhile a few words were displayed but you never need words when love is involved.

The Descendants

Another Clooney movie. 'The Descendants". I do not believe it is all that for all these awards and nominations. I know he is in the Boys Club so they have to "nod" him every year but make something good Clooney.

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close

I really wanted to see more of Sandra in 'Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close' but that was fine because the young man in the movie carried the whole film. He needs a nominations instead of Clooney or Pitt. I still get very emotional at 9/11 films. Time has past but it will never be forgotten. RIP the souls who passed away.....

Beginners

‎'Beginners' is another movie about love and finding out who you are. I love when a movie sneaks love in and then it hits you at the end and you realize "yay, that is what its about".

Midnight In Paris

'Midnight In Paris" was a genius of a movie. I am not a Woody Allen fan but really loved this little gem. I was excited each time Gil went back in time to the 20's. I sat in anticpation for who he would encounter next and how the interaction would take place and play out. I think I would have been good friends with Zelda.
